MEGA HOUSE PARTY MIX, December 2008
I have sold several copies of my homemade demo CD, titled Tetris D3M0. Some of them have been premature, so the intro track sucked majorly. I have since re-recorded the intro among other improvements, and with the launch of this site, I have a standard version of my CD that I sell. If you would like a copy, contact me and let me know. I request a $5 donation if you are willing and can afford it but I'm more concerned with getting my name and music out there.
Anyways, here is the track listing:
Intro - This is just me talking... I say stuff about the CD, who I am, what songs are on it, etc. If you have an early copy, I sound like I don't know what to say... haha. I mention my email address and, in the new recording, this web site.
Tetris (Game Boy Gangsta Rap) [lyrics] [free MP3] - This is my popular hit. I actually got the idea one day to hook my Game Boy Color up to the line-in on my PC and record the background music as a sample. I composed a beat out of it and wrote some dorky lyrics. I would have never imagined it would turn out this good. You can hear this one on ACIDplanet or MySpace. I have written a 2nd verse and I plan to reorganize and finalize the song, but for now, it is the infamous demo.
DistortedBeatNBass - A simple beat track; it just loops over for a bit. I just really like how this beat sounds, so I included it on here. It's good for background music on the radio... One notable fact is that the guitar sound is a sample from Chris Czub's guitar, first used in Dreamstrumental.
Gitcha Handzup [lyrics] [free MP3] - My second recorded rap song. The point of this one was to create a track PURELY using my own sounds. After only two measures of the intro beat, I start beatboxing, and then many layers of me come together. The beat is the one I use as an intro for most of my performances, first used at the 2005 CSAA Talent Revue, but that's another story. The lyrics to this are just wacky and pointless. I am considering re-recording all of this one, as well as Tetris... and maybe I'll write more lyrics. [shrug]
BassDance - Another beat track. The special part about this one is the bassline. I can't figure out where the bassline is from, or whether I actually made it up, because it sounds so familiar. I must have picked it up from somewhere, but since it was tickling my mind one day, I decided to create a beat track with the bassline. Turn up the subs. =D
HumanBeat - This is an older one, but it showcases my beatboxing quite well. I simply started freestyling, and ended up going for 8 measures or so, so I chopped up the recording into 4 parts and created loops. I also have some Phaz3r noizes in here. The end result has the different beatbox loops layered a little bit and in STEREO!!! Catchy and entertaining... I need to do more work like this.
Dance - A straight-up dance style song. Pounding beat, distorted bass. This was one of the big projects that took off and turned into something great. Sadly, I can't develop this one anymore because the actual project file for it got destroyed because of file system problems! However, I do have a rendered file of it, so I can listen to it and burn copies. I may recreate this from scratch one day. And you know it'll be better.
MSN-Mix - This one is really old... like a few years (4 or 5). Well, at least that's when I started it. Back then, when I just started producing beats, I didn't have many samples to work with, so I grabbed the sounds from MSN Messenger and chopped 'em up a bit and made a nice little beat out of it. More recently, I updated it with better drum sounds and the Special Ed intro stuff. It's a fun instrumental track.
Dreamstrumental [free MP3] - My Electronica Masterpiece. This one began when I was beatboxing. I was just freestyling trying to make up something that had an epic build-up feel, and I sort of made up the bassline. I impressed myself, so I immediately sat down at my computer and composed the start of this song. Over the next 3 days or so after that, I developed it into what you hear on the CD.
Tetris (Remix) - Since I have successfully crafted some dance style songs, I decided to apply the same style to my Tetris song. It's kind of repetitive, but it's fun. The original Tetris music, my chorus, and a pounding beat. No verses. I was considering using a beat like this when I originally composed the Tetris beat. I think it suits it.
Lexy's Song (Listen To Your Heart) - On the latest copies of my CD, I include this as track 11. It is my newest song and the voice recording is the best quality of any song I've done so far. I wrote this for a girl I used to have a crush on named Alex a.k.a. Sexy Lexy, who was a guest on my radio show on WKUF-LP 94.3 Flint a few times. One of her favorite songs is Listen To Your Heart by DHT so that's why I ended up writing lyrics for her. This originally started as just a beat that was sort of a remix of Listen To Your Heart, but I took out the original chorus and decided to re-write it and sing it myself. She loved what she heard, so I wrote a full-length song. You can hear it on my ACIDplanet.com profile.
